Joel Andrew Blunden - Drums & Vocals

Hey, I'm Joel. I've been playing drums since I was 11 years old and have played in bands my entire life, forging a career for myself based around my passion.

I've travelled all over the UK playing at major festivals. One of the bands I used to drum for played at Glastonbury & Standon Calling alongside artists like Pigeon Detectives, Kate Nash and even Rag and Bone Man (more on that later). Of course I still play original music to this day and have a passion project with my brother Adam, the guitarist.

Alongside playing live, I track drums remotely from my studio as well as run a successful drum school with over 50 students, employing two other teachers. As part of my journey as an educator, I've been very fortunate to host and perform at masterclasses and drum clinics, performing alongside drummers such as Richard Hawking (Hacktivist), Calvin Davidson (High Fade), Adam Gammage (Tom Grennan) and Beanie Bhebhe from Rudimental.

I have a working relationship with many top drum brands including Sonor, as well as being endorsed by Amedia Cymbals & Balbex Drumsticks.

In my spare time, lol, I'm a Dad I don't have any spare time. Danni is my amazingly talented partner and we have a wonderful son together. When I get the chance, I enjoy songwriting and composing and have taken up a new hobby of climbing (well, indoor bouldering). I know, weird combo. Anyway, as promised, my embarrassing story below...

I've played some awesome shows throughout my career with various artists but one of my favourite memories was appearing at a major UK festival - two dressing rooms over was Rag & Bone Man. I ran into him in the hallway, panicked and said "You're Rag & Bone Man aren't you?" (despite seeing his name on the dressing room and recognising him immediately). Essentially, I tried to be cool, but totally failed. What a noob! Anyway, on the way to the stage (on a golf buggy -I know, premium ride), I shouted back and waved at him saying "I love you Rag & Bone Man", he just waved, really awkwardly. I still don't know his actual name.
